Owner Jason Jones of Porgie and Mr Jones in Hawthorn and Snow Pony in Balwyn, has a resounding success on his hands if last Sunday is anything to go by. My first visit and I was blown away. The name is their philosophy, Friends of Mine. Every part of the business has been sourced through friends or friends of friends, from the produce to the artwork. It all comes together in a warm and busy environment.

Located away from the busier end of Swan Street, it's a bit of a destination to get to. That hasn't hurt business. In the pouring rain there would have been a queue of 20 people waiting. It's a mix of causal, with three spaces, a more formal dining room, while the front room is a mix of window benches.

I liked the provenance offered all the way through the menu, continually making reference to their "friends" who helped contribute. There is plenty to choose from, with a large breakfast menu, which we wanted to dive into. It was very busy, which did and didn't suit us, so we whiled away the time waiting for our first coffee, after that everything moved quickly. The food, one word "Delish"!
