Rice Queen
An exciting oriental experience.

I don’t know how to describe this place other than to say “YUM!”. If great food, perfect location, friendly service and reasonable prices are something you look for in a restaurant (and rightly so) then look no further! Rice Queen serve some of the most delicious Eastern-influenced cuisine I’ve had the pleasure of inhaling without pause for thought. The vast expanse of this diner means that you never feel stifled, even when you’ve eaten well beyond your physical capabilities – which, I assure you, you will - and the relaxed atmosphere means that it can be both the perfect venue for a first date, or a brilliant night out for you and your 5/10/50 closest mates.
If you get time stick your head into Panama Dining Room upstairs for a quick whiff, or you can wander down to St Judes Cellars on Brunswick street pre or post meal for a lazy pinot. With sister restaurants like these your options are almost limitless.
My top picks are the miso dressed yellow-fin tuna sashimi and asparagus with potato salad, and the warm free-range chicken, lime-leaf and lemongrass salad with green chilli nam jim! The best hangover cure around!!
You won’t regret a morsel at Rice Queen, but take cash as these guys haven’t quite caught up with technology yet and don’t do eftpos or credit.
