In a world where sustainability has become an ever increasing buzz word, one Japanese company has found a practical way to turn general office paper into an item that we all need... Instant Toilet Paper!

We all know that feeling when you really have to go and there is no toilet paper! Well gone are those days.....

A Japanese company has invented a machine that turns general office paper into toilet paper. Named, ‘White Goat’, the machine takes around 30 minutes to convert forty pieces of A4 paper into one toilet paper roll. The paper is placed into one end of the machine where it is shredded using the built in shredder and then mixed with water until it becomes a pulp. Any foreign matter such as sticky tape or staples are separated and removed from the pulp by the machine. The machine then flattens the pulp, dries it and then converts it into usable toilet paper which is wound into a roll just like the ones you buy in the supermarket.

Winning a top prize at the Monozukuri Nippon awards, the ‘White Goat’ machine has been designed by a company called Oriental and was unveiled six weeks ago at an electronics trade show in Japan. With the release of a video posted on www.diginfo.tv recently, the popularity of the machine has even included it appearing on a lot of blogs world wide.

Before you rush out to buy one of these great machines for the home or office, you might want to take out a second mortgage and clear out the spare room, as the 1.8 metre tall machine weighs 600 kilograms and will go on sale later in 2010 for a retail price of around $100,000.

Although the machine may cost a pretty penny, and weigh as much as a large rhino, When you consider the cost of recycling and toilet paper for a large office and not to mention the green aspect, saving about 60 cedar trees each year, this may be a good investment.
